On the Buses - Sign the petition

You may have heard that the buses through the village have changed - and not for the better.

During the day there will be only a bus into and from Truro every two hours! This will have an adverse effect on many people in the village. The changes will make it difficult to visit the doctors or dentist as well as going to or from Truro and Falmouth.

Marc Reddy, Managing Director of First Devon and Cornwall, explains, "In a move designed to fully integrate Truronian with the rest of the business, and improve the network for our customers, we are making a number of changes to the Cornish bus network from May". Strange use of the word improve! Seems that the West Briton was taken in at first by First, Changes to bus services hope to improve punctuality, but now seem to be reporting the downside - Passengers will be hit by changes to routes

If it affects you or someone close then please sign the petition in the shop. The more signatures we get the better and it will only take two minutes of your time. It's also worth emailing Julia Goldsworthy our local MP, You may also want to voice your concerns at the special First information bus that will be in Truro Lemon Quay between 27 April and 2 May or contact First via their website. Thankyou

New Website

The website was first started as part of the millenium celebrations when I scanned in a lot of photos that were used for the display in the village school. I wanted to provide a way for people to see the photos long after the exhibition had gone. Hence the website!

Over the last nine years the time I have had availalble for the website has ebbed and flowed, but a recent email fro a person in South America made me realise that it can reach places, and have positive benefits far beyond my first thoughts for it. So here we are website version 4!

Please feel free to contribute. I am always willing to publish any photographs that refelect the village, stories or memories, as well as advertise village events, organisations or businesses. Just use the 'Contact Us' section on the menu
